Alternative Feeds in Northern Ireland

You are in: About Us > Alternative Feeds in Northern Ireland

Many of the Alternative Feeds traditionally an option for farmers in England, Wales and Scotland are available to their counterparts in Northern Ireland through KW Forage Systems.

Our large range of moist feeds includes Vitagold, the high protein distillery product from Girvan in South-West Scotland and C*Traffordgold, the balanced energy and protein feed from the moist wheat milling industry in Manchester, England. Both products have been used very successfully by dairy and beef farmers in Northern Ireland and, like Brewers' Grains, continue to offer cost savings and palatability benefits of moist feed when compared with conventional alternatives.

Dried Molassed Sugar Beet Feed from sister company, Trident, has continued to offer farmers a palatable source of energy in the form of digestible fibre. Brought in by sea, the product offers farmers in the province an ideal alternative to rolled or ground cereals.

The range of Alternative Feeds is widened by recent imports of high energy blends of products from human food processing such as biscuit meals, breakfast cereals, cake and flour. These offer the user a high energy, cereal substitute with energy supplied from sugar, starch, digestible fibre and oil.

Molasses and blends of products with molasses complement the range of feeds available as do Silage Additives, Fertiliser and Grass Seed mixtures.
